The shortest road to the great dunes of the Sahara. Three days out and back from Marrakech that take in the ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, the palm groves of Skoura, the Valley of Roses and the canyons of the Dades and the Todra before the camels lead you into the sand at Merzouga.
One night in a guest house on the banks of the Dades river, one night under tents at the foot of Erg Chebbi, with dinner and breakfast at each stop. Private van and driver, hotel pickup and drop off.

Pickup at your hotel or riad and the climb over the Tizi n’Tichka pass through the High Atlas, with kasbahs strung along the road. Visit of Ait Ben Haddou, the largest fortified ksar in Morocco, then Ouarzazate, gateway to the Sahara, with its old souks and earthen houses. The afternoon follows the Skoura palm grove and the Valley of Roses to the Dades valley. Dinner and night in a small guest house across the river.
Breakfast at the guest house, then the Todra Gorges, the grand canyon of Morocco, walked on foot below orange cliffs where nomads still graze their goats. Through Tinghir and the Sahara market town of Rissani to Merzouga. In the late afternoon the camels take you into the dunes of Erg Chebbi for sunset, a Berber dinner and a night under traditional tents.
Early wake up for the sunrise over the dunes, then breakfast at a hotel in Merzouga. The long road home crosses Rissani, Alnif and the Draa valley at Agdz, with lunch on the way and the villages of the south passing the windows. Drop off at your hotel in Marrakech in the evening.
